About

Afrodrumming Logo

Afrodrumming is for djembe players and fans of African drumming.

It was set up in 2009 by Al Paton, percussionist and djembe teacher with the world's largest interactive drumming company.

What started out as a book has become a large collection of free high-quality information that is not available anywhere else. Much of it has been collected through years of experience, research and interviews with other professional percussionists.

In addition there are free lessons, videos, tips, old photographs, a bit of history and much more. We also hope to connect the drumming community all over the world with our Facebook group.

In the last 50 years, the djembe has gathered an immense global following and fired up a new passion for African drumming and world music.

The drum enjoyed by millions of people. If you're one of them, we hope you'll enjoy this site too.
